In Valletta, at Upper Barrakka Gardens a nine-gun salute for the late Prince, fired from the Saluting Battery organized by the Malta Tourism Authority & the Wirt Artna Foundation.
Many businesses around Malta put up posters & flags in memory of Prince Philip.
It's no secret that Prince Philip & Queen Elizabeth loved their time in Malta where they lived for 2 years as newly weds.
Prince Philip passed away at age 99 on the 9th of April 2021 & his funeral was held on the 17th of April 2021.
As a Royal consort, The Duke of Edinburgh was entitled to a full state funeral at Westminster Abbey in London. But in line with the Queen's husband’s wishes for a “no fuss” send off, he instead had a Royal ceremonial funeral.
