Malta Rocks is an upcoming yearly concert that will feature the best of local talent on one stage. Its first edition was launched today and it will take place on the 17th of September 2021 from 18:00 at The Fosos in Floriana. The vision behind Malta Rocks is two-fold — that to give local talent the exposure it needs and craves by creating a platform that puts local artists at the centre of attention and at the same time kickstart a new post-covid era for the local entertainment industry.
The first ever Malta Rocks event will feature the following artists (in alphabetical order) - Destiny, Kantera, Kersten Graham, Lapes, Michela, Mikaela, Matthew James and Band, Owen Leuellen, Red Electrick, The Busker, The Rifffs, Tribali and Wayne and Band. Mark Grech, producer for the show stated that this event is testament of the quality of talent that we have on our islands and it is also a rubber stamp of approval for all the things done throughout the years by various sectors and stakeholders to improve the entertainment industry.
The team looks forward to continuing to grow this concept, so that it can become a yearly event where the majority of local talent could be exposed. Myself and my team would also like to thank the authorities for their sterling work and the Malta Tourism Authority for being the perfect side kick. “Malta Rocks is brilliant news for the entertainment industry. As we continue heading on the path towards normality, it is crucial that the Maltese public remains responsible with full respect of the regulations outlined by the Superintendence of Public Health. I wish all the best of luck to the artists & organizers and a special thanks to the Malta Tourism Authority who played a paramount part in making this event a reality,” remarked Minister for Tourism and Consumer Protection Clayton Bartolo.
Johann Buttigieg, CEO of the Malta Tourism Authority stated that “Malta Rocks is the perfect opportunity for locals and tourists alike to experience the great talent which our Islands have to offer, and we are pleased to be supporting this event, which indeed is the first chance for some of Malta’s finest, to come together on one platform, at a time when safe and controlled seated events can start to take place.
