The Big Bang by Hublot - Masters of Time.
'From Ferrari to FIFA, Hublot watches are the mark of quality and style as well as exceptional timepieces'.
The 1980s was a decade famed for many reasons – amazing music, big hair, Live Aid, to name a few but did you know Hublot, the iconic watch, was launched by Breil watchmaker Carlo Crocco in 1980, with the first watch ever to combine metal casing with a rubber strap?
This combination is now an accepted feature in watchmaking but in 1980 it was staggering in its innovation. Furthermore, it had taken three years’ dedicated research and development to design and manufacture the first natural rubber strap.
Frequently copied but never bettered, the idea of a durable strap combined with precious metal is one of Hublot’s unique design features. Beloved by sportsmen and women across the world – think Usain Bolt, Rohit Sharma, the entire Manchester United team and Diego Maradona, each with a watch design dedicated to them – this is a true watch collector’s watch. From Ferrari to FIFA, Hublot watches are the mark of quality and style as well as exceptional timepieces.
Visually arresting designs are encapsulated in the flagship Big Bang models as shown. Launched in 2005, the impressive collection offers ceramic, rose gold and titanium cases with cutting edge technology. The brand’s signature porthole style bezel is a play on the name, as Hublot is French for porthole.
Edwards Lowell, Malta’s leading fine jewellers, luxury watch experts and exclusive agent for Hublot, is proud to team Brand Hublot with The Malta Polo Club. The sport of kings meets the king of watches
Edwards Lowell and Hublot sponsor the Cawnpore Cup at the Malta Polo Club each year in conjunction with Veuve Clicquot: June 2018 saw a truly memorable event with luxurious reclining and viewing areas, free flowing champagne and canapés, the opportunity to meet old friends and new and all with unparalleled views of the match.
The event was made extra special as guests had the opportunity to meet and greet Hublot Regional Director for Mediterranean countries, Augusto Capitanucci. Appointed in 2015, Capitanucci comes from a long line of journalists and, before he took on his role in Hublot, he was a journalist at Gruppo 24 ORE - editor in chief of 24 HOURS Magazine.
A selection of Hublot’s finest timepieces was also on display and doubtless you will be seeing them on the cognoscenti’s wrists fairly soon, despite a lengthy waiting list. To find out more or to book an appointment, call or email Edwards Lowell.
