The Malta Fashion Week is over and what a show that was!

Updated: Jul 30, 2022

#MALTAFASHIONWEEK2022 The final evening of Malta Fashion Week is over, and how sad we are to see another Fashion Week come to a close. It has been an honour to showcase all the diverse and amazing designer collections and host so many passionate, creative people to enjoy the spectacle with us. We are sure that next year will be as fascinating and wonderful as this year has been!!

On our final day of Malta Fashion Week, we witnessed the showcasing of brands Gagliardi, Nadya Dzyak and Charles & Ron.

Gagliardi presented their AW22 Collection: Gagliardi’s Autumn / Winter 2022 season draws inspiration from the work of the eminent Maltese artist Kenneth Zammit Tabona. His watercolours, depicting Maltese landscapes viewed through the windows of a typical Maltese living room, evoke feelings of nostalgia; the safety of home contrasted with the lure of the outdoors, of adventure & travel. Feelings are reflected in the many versatile garments in the collection that bridge the gap between formal & casual, work & leisure, indoors and outdoors. Lead Makeup Artist: Elaine Galea. Lead Hair Stylist: Clayton Balzan @ Flamminage

NADYA DZYAK our guest from Ukrainian Fashion Week presented the collection ‘Seasonless’ : It featured pleated details, translucent fabrics and multi-layered decors. The collection embodies feminine strength, a sense of confidence and inner energy. The collection is about never giving up, the world will win over darkness.

Lead Makeup Artist: Rachel Gilford. Lead Hair Stylist: Vanusia Mifsud @ Vanusia Hair Design & Sasha Roberts @ Paxanas

Finally, Charles & Ron showcased ‘Cynosure’: Drawing inspiration from the 16th-century palace ‘Casa Rocca Piccola’ situated in Valletta, the collection highlights the beauty of the eclectic decorative items housed within these walls, whilst seeking to explore the synergy between interior and fashion design. The aesthetic riches of Malta and the traditions of Maltese nobility, with a specific focus on the aristocratic De Piro bloodline, are brought to life through the digital manipulation of prints featuring crystal glassware, gilded baroque frames, antique furniture, porcelain pottery, cross stitch fabrics, gold and silverware
