Saturday 21st October 2017 saw the start of the Rolex Middlesea Race and one of Malta’s best attended parties. Edwards Lowell, the leading authorised retailer for Rolex and sponsor of the race, surpassed itself with this year’s party.
Held at the beautiful Villa Bighi, Kalkara, with its extensive terraces and breathtaking views of Grand Harbour, this was one of the best places on the island to see all the competitors begin the first leg of the 608-mile race – possibly the only racecourse in the world to have a live volcano as a landmark.
Expert live commentary kept the guests informed as to yachts and competitors and a sumptuous buffet of canapes and Dim Sum was available throughout.
Free flowing prosecco and cocktails always makes a party swing and Edwards Lowell’s choice of both was clearly appreciated by the glamourous ‘A’ list invited guests. The Edwards Lowell party is a much-anticipated event and, as always, the team provided exquisite hospitality.
A display of Rolex timepieces, including Yachtmaster, Skymaster, Datejust and Professional was an interesting counterpoint to the race and certainly garnered plenty of attention in their own right.
