Edwards Lowell celebrates Malta's achievements on the global stage; starting with Dr Edward de Bono

Edwards Lowell – celebrating Malta’s achievements on the global stage.

This summer, Edwards Lowell begins the celebrations of Maltese individuals who have changed the world and brought us to a new way of seeing or doing things. Synonymous with luxury since 1925, Edwards Lowell’s new promotional campaign is named: “Someday…everything will make perfect sense.”

Featuring local achievers and their creative approaches to their work and their unwavering passion, the campaign’s subjects have all broken the mould in their own respective fields, succeeding both in Malta as well as internationally, by building unique and thought-provoking legacies.

Dr Edward de Bono is a world authority on conceptual thinking as a driver of innovation and change. Born in Malta in 1933 and educated at the universities of Malta, Oxford and Cambridge, de Bono has given us the concept of ‘blue skies thinking’ and ‘thinking outside the box’.

He has written in excess of fifty books, his most acclaimed being the ‘Six Thinking Hats’. A tool used by multi-national companies such as Siemens, Boeing and Honeywell, in addition to business schools and universities as well as individuals, the concept is to create a coherent thinking system that uses creativity to solve perennial issues in a non-confrontational manner.

Much like the planet named after him, Dr De Bono carries his own gravity.

Edward de Bono is nothing if not an innovator: always striving to refine his thoughts and ideas and present them in a new way. In May 2018,he held a conference at Verdala Palace under the patronage of H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca. This saw de Bono use the palace as the setting for his first ever ‘Palace of New Thinking’ conference. On the basis that a new idea and approach can better solve problems of conflict, the ‘Palace of New Thinking’ conference is to be held annually and is focused on discussing creative ideas about different world issues.

As to the choice of venue, de Bono was quick to point out that for people to be able to discuss stubborn issues of international concern, the location must be a place of gravitas. The setting plays a big part in the formulation of a higher and more innovative way of thinking.

As someone who is an internationally recognised symbol of Maltese excellence, who has reached iconic status both within and without his field of study, Edwards Lowell felt great resonance with de Bono’s vision for all encompassing excellence. Thus, he was chosen to be the first in their series of achievers of excellence. The “Someday…everything will make perfect sense” campaign will see Edwards Lowell collaborating with people who have reached the peak of their careers and set a benchmark for future generations.

Like Edwards Lowell, these remarkable individuals are the standard bearers for the next generation They are not just leaders; they are innovators who have gone above and beyond that which is expected of them. In short, they are living legends.

To thank Dr de Bono for his contribution to making Malta a world-renowned country, Malcolm Lowell, Managing Director of Edwards Lowell was delighted to present him with Patek Philippe pen; a fitting gift for an esteemed man of letters.

The choice of each high achiever is down to their values and successes and reflects Edwards Lowell’s ninety-three-year pursuit of quality and excellence within the field of luxury goods. Celebrating the special few who have left their mark on history and whose passion and love for what they do encourages and challenges others, the campaign reflects Edwards Lowell’s own approach to achieving excellence: while getting to the top of your game is never easy, for those willing to dream and to invest energy and consistency, it will all be worth it in the end.

Edwards Lowell feel that the “Someday…everything will make perfect sense” slogan is an ideal title for their campaign, to illustrate the importance of patience, resilience and a willingness to grow and achieve. Success like that of Dr Edward de Bono, who has been nominated as one of the 150 people who have contributed the most to the whole history of humanity, is not achieved overnight; however, if one is willing to put time and effort into one’s work, everything will, naturally, make perfect sense.
