The Royal Malta Yacht Club announced the upcoming ORC Europe Championship 2023 from 23rd April - 1st May, a magnificent regatta that will bring together some of sailing's brightest stars! With an impressive selection of yachts and teams competing under the auspices of Offshore Racing Congress, this event promises to be one for history books.
Sailors from all over Europe will gather on the beautiful waterfront of Malta for an exhilarating week full of competitive sailing and knowledge-sharing. The event promises a week full of exciting races and endless opportunities for networking between sailing fans.
The upcoming event is shaping up to be an exciting competition as a number of esteemed and successful sailing champions join the fray, including Karl Kwok’s TP 52 BEAU GESTE (HKG) skippered by Gavin Brady (NZL), Aivar Tuulberg’s KATARIINA II (EST) team piloting their Arcona 340, Ott Kikkas with his Italia 11.98 SUGAR 3 (EST), Lee Satariano at the helm of Artie III and Elusive 2 captained proudly by the Podesta family. The addition of Otra Vez – led confidently by owner Aaron Gatt Floridia from Malta– only adds further anticipation for this highly anticipated regatta!
Jonathan Borg, Chairman of Yachting Malta, enthusiastically embraced the chance to contribute toward a remarkable event. “Whilst Valletta, a UNESCO World Heritage site creates a perfect image, Malta is not just about offering spectacular scenes along its coastline but is renowned for its ideal sailing conditions, which have been attracting high calibre yachting events to Malta and offers high quality services to the maritime industry”.
