The highly anticipated Forbes Travel Guide 2023 Star Awards for the world’s best luxury hotels, restaurants and spas are out and we are thrilled to share the results with our esteemed readers. This exclusive list of winning properties reflects the highest standards of excellence in hospitality from all corners of the globe, including Malta.
The awards provide a comprehensive evaluation of amenities, guest services, food and beverage experiences and more, in order to recognise not just outstanding facilities but also excellence in hospitality staff engagement with guests.
2020 featured an unprecedented year for hospitality as travellers faced unpredictable challenges such as health restrictions and sudden closures due to pandemic conditions. The Forbes Travel Guide Star ratings system is based on up to 950 separate objective standards divided into four main categories: Rooms & Facilities (290 points); Service & Hospitality (350 points); Dining & Amenities (200 points); Cleanliness/Maintenance (150 points). Most importantly, 75% of the rating is based on the service and sincere care for the guests, while 25% is determined by the quality of its facilities.
